Morning After Champagne

Six years ago this morning, we awoke in a state of disbelieving euphoria:

The man who started yesterday as Dominum Josephum was now eating breakfast as Papa Benedetto!

    I was there, a last minute addition; and I enjoyed the crowd every bit as much as the Mass. There’s a reason why it’s called a “Communion”. Afterwards, I walked over the South Capitol Street Bridge to Anacostia Metro Station, another experience in human interactions, and in the joys of nature.
