Big Book

…Sometimes when I read Luke 15, I wonder why the woman searches so diligently for one lost coin, and then rejoices so exhuberantly when she finds it. Click HERE for one possible reason…

…Comprehensive “histories” of art have always left me cold. They tend to include many ugly 20th-century items, for no good reason. And they waste precious space with words, words, words signifying nothing.

This new “Art Museum” published by Phaidon Press, however, appears at least to avoid the latter pitfall.

High-quality reproductions of beautiful works of art out-value their weight in gold, so dropping $200 for this barbell of a book counts as a worthy investment. I would gladly pay almost as much for the two-page picture of the Sistine Chapel ceiling alone.

Just a suggestion for the cultured people on your Christmas list.
