I find it odd how St Thomas responds here with a reference to a theological work, De Ecclesiasticis Dogmatibus, rather than directly to the words of Scripture.
We call it the Magnificat, and not the Magnificant, because Our Lady, full of the Holy Spirit, knew that she only had one soul.
